PATIOSpots

The PATIOSpots App is part of the PATIO project by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Applied Diagnostics, designed to support individuals diagnosed with prostate cancer. The App allows users to enter, find, and rate WC facilities, as well as locate treatment, counseling, and important contact points in their local area. This citizen-driven initiative aims to address the practical needs of those affected by prostate cancer during and after treatment.
With the PATIOSpots App, developed by the SPOTTERON Citizen Science Platform, users can find accessible public toilets nearby, rate their facilities, and even add new locations to the map. This is especially helpful for people experiencing incontinence due to conditions such as bladder weakness, prostate cancer, or simply those in older age. By contributing to the App, users can help others easily find nearby restrooms, ensuring that those affected can confidently attend appointments or go out without the worry of not having access to a toilet.
Aim
The aim of the PATIO project is to make everyday life easier for those diagnosed with prostate cancer by providing a digital communication tool that facilitates access to essential resources and support. By engaging both researchers and patients in the development process, the PATIOSpots App empowers individuals to share knowledge and life experiences, fostering a supportive community for prostate cancer patients and their families.
