lv100.garamantas.lv is a digital platform, in which anyone can help researchers to transcribe ancient folklore and autobiographical materials in the digital archive of Latvian folklore, in that way donating their time, effort, and skills to increase searchability and availability of unique and valuable cultural heritage sources. Manuscripts are provided in Latvian, Latgalian, Livonian, Lithuanian, Estonian, Russian, Belarussian, Yiddish, Roma, Polish and German languages.

The digital initiative developed by the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art (University of Latvia) invites society to jointly contribute to historical manuscript transcription. The digital volunteer community has been increasing year by year. Since 2016, the volunteer community has spent >35'000 hours in the platform helping researchers to decipher digitized manuscripts.
