Stockholm University Baltic Sea Centre

Researchers, environmental analysts and communicators at the Stockholm University Baltic Sea Centre collaborate to increase knowledge about the sea and support marine management of various environmental challenges.

The Baltic Sea Centre focuses on the environmental challenges of the Baltic Sea through an interdisciplinary approach and contributes with knowledge to authorities and other organisations working with marine governance and management. We support and develop Stockholm University's marine operations by providing infrastructure such as field stations, ships and marine modeling for research and education.

In addition to our Baltic Sea focus, we are also assigned to be a unifying external force for marine research from all disciplines at the university, among other things by offering expertise in communication and external analysis of important political processes related to marine environmental issues.

We have several special appointed assignments together with other universities and regional water management actors.
