Hello Everyone!

Throughout 2021 we are running a series of workshops on diversity and inclusiveness as a collaboration between ECSA, the ECSA & Living Knowledge Network working group on empowerment, inclusiveness and equityD-NOSES and Cos4Cloud

The first one is today (27/01/21) at 16.00 CET: Diversity and inclusiveness workshop 1: Examining how dominant white culture manifests in citizen/community science

We would love to see you there and hope to continue the discussion here afterwards!

The session was a really interesting reflection on racism in citizen science. Discussions throughout the session were maintained via a Google Jamboard. The talk will soon be made available online, but in the interim, we wanted to share the following links with members as they were provided during the session for further reading:

Characteristics of White Supremacy Culture (PDF) from 'Dismantling Racism: A Workbook for Social Change Groups', by Kenneth Jones and Tema Okun, ChangeWork, 2001.

- The LearnCitSci group Anti-racism Foundation Readings (Google Doc)

- The American Library Association presentation on Identifying Microagressions (PDF)

- The National History Museum of Los Angeles Country Community Science Anti-racist Philosophy (Google Doc)

- The National History Museum of Los Angeles Country Community Science Anti-racist Pledge (Google Doc)
