Statistics in Citizen Science

Do you have any resource available concerning citizen science statistics, for instance, how many projects funded there are according to the discipline? Thanks!

Hi Jessica, there are many projects on EU-Citizen.Science but it is not a database of all citizen science projects in Europe, and that I know of, there is not an "absolute" list of funded projects (in Europe). It would be difficult to compile as funding for citizen science projects comes from different streams (local, national, European level, crowdsourced,...). There might even be some projects, in environmental conservation for example, that would fall into "funded project in environmental conservation" rather than "funded project in citizen science" although the activities carried out in these projects could also be considered citizen science.

You could have a look at national citizen science platforms and see if you find statistics there. Here are some of them: the German platform, the Austrian platform, French platforms Particip-Arc and science ensemble, Belgian platforms scivil and iedereenwetenschapper, the Danish platform, the Swiss platform,...

And you could also search on CORDIS ("Community Research and Development Information Service"; the EC's primary public repository and portal to disseminate information on all EU-funded research projects and their results), espefically here, searching for "citizen science" selecting projects and the H2020 programme.
