Project on Citizen Science and AI

Project on Citizen Science and AI

Hey all,

At Scivil, the Flemish expertise centre for Citizen Science, we are currently setting up a project on citizen science and artificial intelligence (AI), and we’re looking for inspiring examples to strengthen our approach.

We aim to co-create research questions on AI through a guided process (in which participants also learn about AI, which helps them refine their question). Does anyone have any examples of processes guiding citizens towards concrete AI (or other) research questions?

From these research questions, four projects will be selected to be executed. So we are also thinking about ways to engage citizens in the execution of the AI research or the development of the AI tools. Data collection and labelling are most common, but does anyone know about other examples?

More information on our project can be read in the attached document. Any advice or examples would be appreciated!

Thank you!
