Some of the main organisations supporting citizen science in Ireland are listed here. If you know any others you can add them to this list and encourage them to register their organisations and projects on the EU-Citizen.Science platform:

  • The Environmental Protection Agency
  • The Heritage Council
  • The National Biodiversity Data Centre
  • The Irish Wildlife Trust
  • An Taisce
  • Teagasc
  • Geological Survey Ireland
  • The Marine Institute
  • The National Parks and Wildlife Service

A number of universities and research centres have also supported citizen science projects in Ireland.

Thanks for your email today Joseph. The National Biodiversity Data Centre has been registered with eu-citizen.science for a while now and we have added in our Explore Your Shore and Dragonfly Ireland projects. We plan to add additional projects as time allows. For those wanting to get involved in Marine Citizen Science - www.ExploreYourShore.ie offers a good shop front for current marine CS initatives in Ireland. Looking forward to CS discussions on this forum in the near future.

Wonderful stuff — thanks Dave! If you think of any other ways that EU-Citizen.Science can help to promote and support the great work that is happening at the National Biodiversity Data Centre please let us know :)
