During 2021, ECSA is hosting a series of workshops looking at different aspects of diversity and inclusiveness in citizen science. This first workshop was led by the Natural History Museum in London and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. It aimed to support citizen science practitioners to review their projects and programmes to see where they are perpetuating ‘white supremacy culture’, name instances of oppression and work towards antidotes. In addition, the Natural History Museum in London and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County share how they are adapting their communication and work culture and practices to move towards antiracist citizen/community science.
