LandSense is a Horizon 2020 project that started in September 2016. It aims to build a Citizen Observatory and Innovation Marketplace for Land Use and Land Cover Monitoring. This project was hugely successful, with a number of useful lessons and outcomes. In this webinar, members from the LandSense consortium share some of their experiences and findings. After a brief introduction of the project, the webinar focuses on four main topics: (1) Citizen Science and environmental monitoring, (2) integrating crowdsourced data with authoritative data for land use and land cover monitoring, (3) Citizen Science and personal data protection and (4) rapid image classification to support earth observation monitoring.
