X-Polli:Nation is a Citizen Science project on pollinating insects, developed by OPAL (led by Imperial College, London), in collaboration with several UK partners and the Maremma Natural History Museum in Italy.
This resource includes the links to free learning materials useful to join the project. In particular, you can find:
- Toolkit to identify common Bumblebee and Butterfly species, accessible here.
- Information material to learn more about pollination and why it is important. You can also discover the diverse insect pollinators in the UK, and gain an understanding of the threats they face from changes in the environment, accessible here.
- Toolkit to learn about the plants that different bumblebee species feed on and improve your knowledge on pollinators ecology, accessible here.
- A course to introduce you to citizen science and pollinator monitoring, and a list of popular citizen science projects related to pollinators that you can participate in, accessible here.
