European Commission, Joint Research Centre (JRC), Citizen Science Team

Our team examines the use and practices of Citizen Science for EU policies. This work includes the identification and development of methodologies and tools that interconnect Citizen Science with selected policy areas, and demonstrates their use and usefulness in the different phases of the policy cycle. We reflect upon the implications of using Citizen Science in support to established decision-making processes and information flows, especially considering the opportunities and challenges of digital transformations in order to facilitate the spreading of Citizen Science-based approaches across the EU.
