Upcoming survey shines light on citizen science

A new international survey into Citizen Science will be launched by partners in the CS Track H2020 project on 20 January 2021.

We want to hear about your experience regardless of your level of participation or the topic of the citizen science project in which you took part.

How did you participate? Did you use technology to support your participation, and if so, how was it used? What did you learn and how competent do you feel about doing science as a result of your experience?

The results of this survey will contribute to an overview of the current state of citizen science in Europe and beyond, as well as providing a basis upon which to formulate recommendations and best practice manuals for citizen science project leaders and stakeholders. Through this effort, the survey will help maximize the benefit of citizen science for you and other citizen scientists, organisations and society as a whole.

We recognise that every citizen scientist’s journey is different. Therefore, every input and experience is highly valuable for us – whether you have participated in citizen science projects just once or on several occasions. By completing the survey and sharing your experiences you can contribute to the increasingly important and rapidly expanding field of citizen science. The more respondents we have, the broader our knowledge about citizen science.

We have carefully designed the survey to make sure it won’t take any more than 15 minutes to complete.

If you would like to contact us about this survey, or indeed, if you have any questions or suggestions about our work in this area, please contact the team at University of Jyväskylä (Finland) by sending an e-mail to us: cs-track [at] jyu.fi

We are counting on your help so please share this information with friends and colleagues and encourage them to complete the survey when we launch it on 20 January 2021 and help us to deepen our collective knowledge about citizen science.
